since many of y r going thru the grieving process, and i had written this privately to someone asking how to make it easier....i am sharing the following in the hopes that some ideas r helpful.

it doesn't get easier in many ways and in others it does. what i did:
i planted a tree, a rose of sharon.
i work w/ rescue and volunteer at my local city shelter, nyc animal care & control...this makes me feel very loving twds the world as i am helping other animals in need.
after 8 months, i came home w/ another dog who is very joyful and has many of my lost puppy's characteristics--she is a parti-colored cocker whom i have named 'Folly' and who essentially adopted me!
i had a dream catcher made of her fur.
i had a locket made of a lock of her fur.
i burned candles nitely to lite her way for 6 months.
i put out water for her spirit every nite, now shared by folly.
i dream of her and she visits me.
i made a web site which is still in progress in her honor as well as to help other C patients.
rem that part of the pain y feel is yr puppy making his presence known to y.
